Well last Thursday night I had specially ordered some cold weather gear for V. I didn't take any pictures of him in the gear...let me go pull it out..and take some crappy cell phone pictures brb...
The result was..he was too cold. I was afraid of that. I have ordered a waterproof/wind resistant vest from The Children's Place (online). I also looked at his hat, the ear flaps lifted as he would run, so I am thinking a different hat needs to happen too. He also was wearing short socks, so maybe longer socks. I am also thinking a sweatshirt under the shirt, would work. There is growing room in both.
It ended up being a tough run due to him being cold. Once Denise (the store manager at Dick Ponds Lisle) caught up with us, she was running 4, and we were running 3, V picked it up for quite some time. Then his friend Mike came along and was sweeping, and V was trying to keep up as they went off. I was trying to keep pace, and not call V back. He looked back a few times, slowed down and let them go. He is really a good coach.
So what I got...and I might never take off...
It is by Smart Wool. Don't you love it? It is soooo soft and honestly so warm. I might live in it all weekend.
Sooo...Monday night we won't be running, we have Cub Scouts. Thursday night we won't be running, we have Halloween. So we won't see our friends for over a week! This means I actually need to dust off the dreadmill and spend some quality time with her.
Do you spend more money on running clothes than work clothes?
Do you have one item for running you could never do without? (not shoes..that is a given)
How do you stay warm on your winter runs?
